A Little Bit About MACSO
MACSO (Massachusetts Computer Science Olympiad) is one of the largest competitive programming organizations in Massachusetts. Since our founding, we've hosted competitions with 350+ participants, secured over $80,000 in sponsorships and prizes, and reached students across Massachusetts and around the world through our competitions, educational initiatives, and outreach.
As we prepare for our biggest summer competition yet, we're looking for motivated students to join our leadership team and help grow the organization.
Available Positions
This is a volunteer leadership internship — verified community service hours are provided for students who successfully complete their responsibilities.
Operations Lead
Coordinate the logistics, scheduling, and day-of operations that keep our competitions running smoothly.
Problem Writer
Design and test competitive programming problems for our contests. USACO Silver+ experience or equivalent preferred.
Fundraising Lead
Build relationships with sponsors and help secure the funding and prizes that power MACSO.
Outreach Lead
Spread the word about MACSO to schools and CS communities across Massachusetts. Strong communication skills required.
Website Developer
Help maintain and improve macso.org. Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS is a plus.

We read every application first and shortlist candidates for the next round.
Selected candidates are invited to an online or in-person interview.

Life After MACSO
Over the past year, members of our leadership team have gone on to attend universities including Penn, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Michigan. During their freshman year of college, several have earned internships at companies such as Bloomberg and Stripe, while others have founded startups valued at over seven figures.
